Toning Vs Bleaching of the Skin: Difference

Many people confuse the above beauty terms without knowing that toning is done to keep skin looking its best, a more extreme approach is bleaching which is frowned upon. The difference between Skin toning and skin bleaching is:

Toning: In cosmetics, a skin toner or simply toner refers to a lotion or wash designed to cleanse the skin and shrink the appearance of pores, usually used on the face.

skin bleaching also known as Skin whitening or skin lightening refers to the practice of using chemical substances in an attempt to lighten skin tone or provide an even skin complexion by lessening the concentration of melanin.

NOTE: One should consult a dermatologist when it comes to toning/bleaching due to skin problems.
