Graced with the presence of general captain Mike Mukula who happened to be the highest bidder, contributing Ugx 2.5 million in an auction that raised close to Ugx 10 million for the girl movement, fashion designers like Fatuma asha, Anita Beryl, Abbass Kasujja performances from our very own Jamal and Big trill and the host of the night Judithiana and many others appearances. Do you ever ask yourself questions of how did she get there, how did she do it? Why does everyone work with her? Why is she everywhere? and then you start having guilty thoughts of she is too beautiful, she is just liked, Girl the answer is put the work in and it will work out. Bettinah was inspired by her journey of working here and there, from an HR student to a journalist to finding her passion; it is a real marvel and a true source of inspiration. She also talked about of how one service, self-love, confidence, self-branding and networking to be a model or an inspiration to others She also talked of how she is a very down to earth person, hardworking, ambitious and a generous young lady who loves taking pictures, social media and keeping her smart game on an A. “If you love yourself, you will put yourself out there, you are confident.” She added. She continued to say that she wants to be that lady who will uplift a growing up child by telling her “You are beautiful, your body is fine, your color is one of a kind love you, build you.” She said “They say passion is pursuit, do you have a talent? What have you done to nurture it? Have you identified that which you love? Do you love what you are doing? You are in the right steps and no man is an island, we need help from one another, no matter how small something is it will blossom when you meet and work with the right people.” She had this to say about Girl/women empowerment; When you here empowerment, you must be thinking women being equal to men, or equipping women with a lot to battle with men but that is not the case, this is what it is: – ‘Every girl and every woman, has the potential to make this world a better place, and that potential lies in the act of thinking higher thoughts and feeling deeper things. When women and girls, everywhere, begin to see themselves as more than inanimate objects; but as beautiful beings capable of deep feelings and high thoughts, this has the capacity to create change all around. The kind of change that is for the better’ Bettinah advised girls and women to join the march of empowerment to make the world a better place. All the funds collected at the event are to help during her outreach, aimed at empowering the young women in Bulamagi Sub-county, Iganga District on the 2nd of December.
