Tell us a little about yourself?
Greetings! My name is Tatiana Donaldson and amongst many things I am a New York City based Freelance Makeup Artist. I am an original native of sunny Las Vegas, Nevada. It was October 2011 that I embarked on my artistry journey that soon landed me in NYC in 2013. I have worked for Sephora, MAC Cosmetics, Make Up For Ever, and Nars Cosmetics. After much retail experience I came to a conclusion that I would step away from that world to pursue my true dream of assisting and freelancing in the Fashion Industry. I have always had a keen interest in artistry and high end fashion/editorial since I can remember. For the past year and a half I have been blessed to assist our industry’s leading artists plus land my own projects! My main priority is to continue doing what I love and love what I do!

What prompted you to become a Makeup Artist?

Who are some people that have inspired you throughout your career?
My parents and siblings inspire me to be the woman/artist that I am. Growing up I watched my parents do their best with what they had and for me it’s about taking full advantage of my life and showing up and giving the best version of myself, I owe that to myself and my family.

What’s the biggest challenge you faced on your road to becoming a Makeup Artist?

What do you love most about make up?
I love the freedom of expression through color/makeup. There are so many avenues within makeup artistry; it is truly divine.

Whose face would you love to work on?
I have always wanted to work with Rihanna! I absolutely adore her and respect her grind. We are both Pisces women!!

What’s your favorite makeup brush and WHY?
To be honest my all time favorite makeup tool(s) are my hands- my fingers. The human body is such a temple, so divine. I also a enjoy small to medium natural-synthetic paint brush.

If you weren’t a makeup artist, what else would you do?
I know I would be teaching. Since I can remember I have always wanted to be a teacher. Educating has been a niche of mine. I am currently back in school attaining my bachelors.

How would you describe your signature look and what is it about your style that sets you apart from other makeup artists?

How did you come to be part of the Model Master Class By Aamito Lagum?
We are great friends that met in New York City after she won Africa’s Next Top Model and the rest is history. I believe we (Shane Suban) were the first to work with Aamito. It was in the works to hold a Master Class in Aamito’s home town of Kampala and when I was in invited to speak on behalf of the beauty industry I was honored!
