3 min read

The Seed Show comprises of Ugandan fashion designers working together on a single platform with a common goal to aid in the transformation of the Fashion Industry in Uganda with a Purpose of Unifying Ugandan fashion designers and Identifying Uganda’s fashion. The SEED show project was created in May 2015 by twelve designers and is funded by the United States Mission in Uganda in partnership with Ras Kasozi, CEO of Kas Wear. Ras Kasozi shared on social media how the seed show came into existence, he said

My path and quest in life has always been guided by my life purpose which is to “To nurture Possibility” and also brand purpose which is “To nurture talent and promote change in the youth through exposure of African Arts”

I have always fronted my brand while pitching ideas but when I got the opportunity to share with Lisa Larson who was the Cultural Affairs Officer of the U.S. Embassy Kampala about her interests in supporting and building the Ugandan fashion industry and also my passion for sharing knowledge limited to a small space the SEED Show was birthed.
Ever since we started off the project I have learnt a lot and created a family with the designers from each season who now number to 30 and growing to 40 this year, under the umbrella of SEED Uganda with a purpose of identifying Uganda’s fashion and unifying fashion designers and ever since its formation we have witnessed progressive growth through our partnership with BAYIMBA

I also extend my sincere gratitude to Kampala Fashion Show for joined us on this journey of discovering uncovered talent. Santa Anzo, GLORIA WAVAMUNNO, Sylvia Owori , Latifah Madoi , Edward Sempa, Brenda Nanyonjo , Nunu Mugyenyi , Ahumuza Brian , Suzan Parkers and Lisa Larson . You are all beautiful souls. Whenever I think of the trust from these partners and the designers around me I feel so blessed.

This year we are anticipating for a bigger and better SEED Show.
